AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Wednesday, Habitat for Humanity will give Austinites a look at a new, large project unlike others the city has seen in the efforts to provide affordable housing.
Generally, the non-profit builds single-family homes for residents in need. However, the group’s newest project will be a multi-family development.
The complex will house more than 50 affordable units in East Austin, at East Fourth Street and Onion Street.
City leaders will join more than 300 of the city’s affordable housing partners on Wednesday at Brazos Hall (204 E 4th Street) from 6-10 p.m. for the non-profit’s annual “Blueprints & Blue Jeans” event. The event is open to the public and will focus on the new Fourth and Onion Street project.
At 6 on KXAN, Jacqulyn Powell will have details on the new project, which is one of the largest Habitat for Humanity housing projects in the world.
