AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is set to swear in J. Brett Busby to the Texas Supreme Court in a ceremony at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The state senate confirmed Busby, who was on the 14th Court of Appeals in Houston from 2013 until Dec. 31. Busby, a graduate of Duke University and Columbia Law School, clerked for the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Byron White.

Abbott nominated Busby last month.
