AUSTIN (KXAN) — The most delicious run in Austin was at Mueller Lake Park Saturday.
The Cooking Light and Health Fit Foodie Festival and 5K gave runners a chance to grab one bite at every mile along the course.
Then afterwards, runners could check out local restaurants, drink up at a beer and wine garden and get some tips from top chefs.
“This one is really cool,” said men’s race winner Lucas Manring. “There is food everywhere. It’s just a party after the race.”
As winner of the 5K, Manring got a trip to the Cayman Islands.
“You get a lot of energy. A lot of people come out with their pets or their friends, and it’s very social. So, it’s a good time,” said Tina Hodgson, regional sales representative for the Cayman Islands.
The festival helped raise money for the non-profit No Kid Hungry.
