The charred remains of a shuttle bus that caught fire at Austin airport

AUSTIN (KXAN) — An employee shuttle bus on the upper level of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport burst into flames early Thursday morning.

Lanes were closed after the 5:30 a.m. fire but have since reopened. An ABIA spokesperson says the cause is under investigation.

The fire was extinguished about 15 minutes after first responders were notified. There was no damage except to the shuttle.

Photos sent to KXAN of the fire show an orange glow coming from the north terminal shuttle stop followed by the charred remains of the bus.
