AUSTIN (KXAN) — Easter is only a hop, skip and a jump away and Austin and its surrounding areas will be hosting an egg-xtreme amount of cool events for children and adults alike. Here are a few ideas to throw into your basket!
Austin Zoo Easter Egg Hunt: 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20 at the Austin Zoo, 10808 Rawhide Trail. Children should bring their own Easter baskets for the hunt, which will start at 9 a.m. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. The event will feature an appearance by the Easter Bunny and a “Little Hunters” egg hunt for children 3 and younger. Easter Egg Festival: 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday, April 20 on the Capitol Grounds at Colorado and 12th Street. Free. A free event featuring face painting, crafts, games, preschool egg hunts, elementary school egg races and a visit from the Easter Bunny. For information, click here.
ROSES ninth annual Community Easter Egg Hunt: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at Alamo Pocket Park. Featuring prizes, snacks, money-filled eggs and an appearance by the Easter Bunny. Children ages 12 and younger only. For information, click here.
Austin Roller Rink Adult Easter Egg Hunt: 8 p.m. Sunday, April 21 at Austin Roller Rink, 11600 Manchaca Road #101. An adult Easter egg hunt, skating and a costume contest. BYOB. Hunt starts at 8:30 p.m. Cost is $8 at the door. For information and tickets, click here.
Adult Easter Egg Hunt at Gibson’s: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 21 at Gibson Street Bar, 1109 S. Lamar Blvd. Featuring prizes and a crawfish boil. Ages 21 and over only. For information, click here.
Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 21 at Russian House, 307 E. Fifth St. A festive buffet and egg hunt. Cost is $35 for adults, $15 for kids 12 and younger and free for kids younger than 7. For information and tickets, click here.
