Driver killed after SUV runs off I-35 for unknown reason

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are investigating a crash where an SUV ran off the road for unknown reasons, leaving one dead and another injured last Tuesday.

The initial report from APD stated that a white 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling north at 6 a.m. on Interstate 35 north of Howard Lane. According to authorities the vehicle left the roadway and started to roll.

The crash threw the driver, identified as 23-year-old Kendall Taylor Dezelle, and her passenger from the vehicle. They were both brought to the Dell Seton Medical Center for treatment.

Dezelle died from her injuries six-days-later on Monday, Aug. 27.

APD is still looking into the cause of this crash. They urge anyone with information to reach out to APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-3761.
