Driver crashes into Mexican market in northeast Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A driver crashed his car into the side of a Mexican market in northeast Austin Sunday afternoon.

At 1:32 P.M. Austin police officers responded to a call about a car that struck a building that is part of a shopping center at 825 Rundberg Lane. Google street view shows the store is Tienda Mexican Market.

The driver told police he lost control of his vehicle after he pressed down on the wrong pedal.

Austin-Travis County EMS said the driver sustained minor injuries, but no one else was hurt.

APD said that the structural integrity of the building has not been compromised, meaning there's not a big chance the building could collapse.
