Firefighters with the Austin Fire Department have knocked out an early morning fire in downtown Austin Sunday.

Around 1 a.m. firefighters were dispatched to a home near 1600 Dexter St., which is just east of the Barton Springs Pool.  But, AFD says it was a detached “studio” that was engulfed in flames. They say the main house was briefly threatened by the fire but crews were able to get it under control. No one was injured.

Fire investigators are still working to find out the cause of the blaze but say the building is a total loss with approximately $110,000 in damages.
