AUSTIN (KXAN) — Two downtown streets have been shut down as crews work to fix a gasline that was hit, according to the Austin Fire Department.

Both Colorado Street and Lavaca Street closed around 11:20 a.m. between Seventh Street and Eighth Street. Some gas entered the storm sewer, AFD tweeted, and crews are monitoring the Brown Building and the UT Systems building.

AFD said there are no evacuations.

The Texas Gas Service is working to dig out the hit gas line and fire crews are monitoring the area.
