BLOG: Severe storm moves through Central Texas

A severe storm is moving through Central Texas Friday, bringing with it high winds and heavy rain.

11:30 a.m.: A metal roof was blown off at 5801 Westminster Dr. AFD reports no injuries.

11:04 a.m.: Austin Energy working to repair outages throughout Austin–the biggest outage is in central Austin with more than 4,000 customers experiencing an outage.

11 a.m.: Damage in the Brentwood neighborhood in Austin.

10:50 a.m.: Windermere Elementary in Pflugerville ISD is experiencing a power outage.

10:41 a.m.: Crews are working a house fire in Lakeway, unknown right now if it’s lightning related.

10:32 a.m.: Flash Flood Warning for most of Travis and Hays Counties until 1:30 p.m.

10:30 a.m.: Storm reports indicate downed power lines have been reported in Drippings Springs and Bee Cave. Downed tree limbs up to 3 inches in diameter were also reported in Bee Cave Friday morning. Pea size hail was reported at Point Venture in Travis County. One of the LCRA gauges in Lakeway reported 1.30″ rain in just 15 minutes.
