AUSTIN (KXAN) — Barton Springs will reopen Saturday at 5 a.m. after shutting down earlier this week because of cloudy water.

A well being drilled upstream caused the cloudy water, Austin Parks and Recreation confirmed Friday. It tested the water and says the extra sediment isn’t a danger to swimmers.

Enforcement action is being taken against the company drilling the well that disturbed the sediment. A sediment discharge citation has been filed and the company may face a fine. Officials did not name the company.
