Barton Creek Greenbelt closes for second time in one week

Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — After it was closed Friday due to flooding and reopened Monday, the Barton Creek Greenbelt has been closed again.

The additional rainfall from Wednesday’s severe storms and the potential for flash flooding over the next few days made conditions on the trails dangerous.

Tuesday night’s rain raised Barton Creek’s flow rate and further deteriorated trail conditions, Austin Parks and Recreation Department says.

The department requests the public to observe all posted signs and to stay out of closed areas.
