Austin police investigate suspicious death in east Austin woods


AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are investigating a suspicious death in east Austin, according to a tweet sent at 9:24 p.m. 

Someone on a bike saw the body in the 7000 block of Ed Bluestein Boulevard, south of Manor Road, and called police. The victim was found in a wooded area near the bridge, according to a public information officer.

Police are not releasing information about the condition of the body, but are asking people who may have seen or heard something around 5:35 p.m. to call the homicide tip line at 512-477-3588 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS.

Homicide detectives are expected to provide more information Tuesday.
