AUSTIN (KXAN)– The Austin Police Department pinned and congratulated Rabbi Marie Betcher on her new leadership role as the lead chaplain for APD, the agency confirmed in a tweet Monday.
Betcher is the first woman to take on the role, APD said.
She will oversee a team of chaplains in the department that provide support to officers.
