Austin ISD issues reminder about student holiday for some schools

AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) — The Austin Independent School District is reminding parents that not all schools have a student holiday Monday, September 24. The district sent a tweet to explain why.

Some campuses are not holding class because of its District of Innovation Plans, which allows educators additional days of professional learning.

The following is the list of schools not having class Monday, September 24.

High Schools:
Akins, Anderson, Crockett ECHS, Lanier ECHS, LBJ ECHS, and Travis ECHS.

Middle Schools:
Bailey, Bedichek, Burnet, Covington, Fulmore, Garcia, Gorzycki, Kealing, Mendez, Murchison, Paredes, and Sadler Means.

Elementary Schools:
Andrews, Baldwin, Baranoff, Becker, Blanton, Blazier, Boone, Casey, Clayton, Cook, Cowan, Cunningham, Davis, Dawson, Doss, Galindo, Guerrero-Thompson, Harris, Hill, Houston, Jordan, Joslin, Kiker, Kocurek, Langford, Linder, McBee, Menchaca, Mills, Norman & Sims, Odom, Overton, Padron, Palm, Pecan Springs, Perez, Pillow, Pleasant Hill, Rodrigquez, St. Elmo, Summitt, Sunset Valley, Uphaus, Widén, Williams, Wooldridge, and Wooten.
