AUSTIN (KXAN) — The city’s new soccer team Austin FC named Andy Loughnane as its new president Thursday.
Loughnane previously served as president of Columbus Crew SC.
His new role will include oversight of community and supporter engagement, merchandise, food and beverage, and stadium operations.
“So as a starting point as we launch Austin FC, we’re primarily focused on the business aspects, as we get closer to 2021, we’ll begin to assemble our technical staff, so those on the roster will probably be much closer to spring of 2021 when we begin playing MLS,” said Loughnane.
Loughnane said they will start with 15 members on the staff when they move into their interim office space next month.
From there they will grow to about 100 employees leading up to the spring of 2021.
