AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police say a man is dead after being shot in southeast Austin early Tuesday morning.
Police say the shooting happened outside one of the buildings at the Concord Austin apartment complex at 7330 Bluff Springs Road around 12:30 a.m.
Officers arrived at the scene and found the victim with gunshot wounds. They immediately started life-saving efforts until Austin-Travis County EMS and Austin Fire Department medics arrived, but the victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.
APD didn’t have any suspect information as of its media briefing around 1:30 a.m., but officers have a couple of leads on a potential vehicle to look for but weren’t ready to issue a description publicly.
They are treating the case as a homicide and ask anyone who knows what happened or has any information on the incident to call APD’s homicide tip line at 512-477-3588 or through CrimeStoppers at 512-472-8477. There’s a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case, APD says.
