More officers were asked to patrol Bedichek Middle School in south Austin after threats were made against two students on social media.
In a letter sent home to parents Thursday, Principal Mike Herbin said his team contacted district police immediately when they learned about the alleged threats.
“At this point, Austin ISD police do not have any reason to believe that our students or campus are in any danger,” wrote Herbin.
While there doesn’t seem to be an apparent threat, the district still conducted additional patrols around the school, which is at the corner of West William Cannon Drive and South First Street.
