AFD seeks woman they say torched rack of clothes at Target

Austin

Arson investigators are asking for help identifying a woman they say went into a Target store, set fire to a rack of clothes and left, the Austin Fire Department said.

They said she went into the store at Capitol Plaza in the 5600 block of North Interstate 35 Wednesday night at about 10:15 p.m.

Investigators said she asked store staff where lighters were kept, then retrieved one and went to a rack of clothes and set them on fire.

She walked out of the store and got into a dark-colored car and drove away.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477 or AFD’s Fire/Arson Investigations at 512-974-0240.
