AFD fighting second-story apartment fire in northwest Austin


AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Fire Department (AFD) is fighting a second-story apartment fire in northwest Austin at the Polo Club Apartments.

AFD responded to the call of a structure fire in northwest Austin at 4 p.m. on Cahill Drive. 

Fire units on the scene reported the fire was coming from the second floor of an apartment building.

The fire affected eight units but thankfully was contained to one building.

Four apartments were directly damaged by the blaze. The Polo Club Apartment complex set up a temporary emergency zone for the displaced residents, and are trying to help them move into extra units in the complex.
