AUSTIN (KXAN) — Fire crews responded to a fire in a wall at Iron Works Barbecue in downtown Austin Friday.

Firefighters responded after 11:30 a.m. to the restaurant at 100 Red River St. and said the fire was extinguished about 15 minutes later. No one was injured but they did evacuate the building.

The fire was in a wall, according to AFD. It says it was caused by a heat source too close to combustibles. About $12,000 in damage was done to the structure and $3,000 of contents were damaged. The restaurant reopened around 2 p.m.

This week, another popular barbecue location reopened after a larger fire. In August, wind blew an ember from the fire pit at Franklin Barbecue to the back of the building, which burned for about half an hour. Officials estimated damage to be $350,000.
