AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Saturday, Major General Robert J. Bodisch will assume command of the Texas State Guard after 30 years of service.

The ceremony at Camp Mabry will mark the official start of Bodisch’s command and he will deliver a speech outlining his vision for the guard. Bodisch was appointed to the position by Texas Governor Greg Abbott back in October.

“Our most important and valuable assest is our people,” said Bodisch. “Each of our leaders is expected to exhibit the integrity, dependability, judgement and accountability we expect of each of our troops.”
