GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) — Two students have been detained in connection to a threat against a high school in Georgetown Monday night, according to the school district.

“At this time, we believe this threat is contained and there is no danger to the students or staff of Eastview High School or any other GISD campus,” Georgetown Independent School District wrote in an email to the community.

Georgetown ISD says the threat was related to East View High School at 4490 E. University Ave., and Georgetown police are investigating. Parents were notified as well.

Around 11:05 p.m. Monday, police were notified about a social media threat against the school that allegedly pinpointed Tuesday as the target date. GPD plans to have extra security at the school until the investigation is complete.
