2 men seriously injured in overnight wreck on North Lamar Blvd.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police briefly shut down the northbound lanes of North Lamar Boulevard in far north Austin early Monday after a two-vehicle crash that left two seriously injured. 

Austin Travis County EMS took two people to the hospital, a man in his 60s with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries, and a man in his 20s with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The crash took place around 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of North Lamar Boulevard and Neans Drive, between Braker and Rundberg Lanes. Austin Police say a Nissan Sentra and a Nissan Rouge were the vehicles involved and one vehicle was headed north when the wreck occurred. 

As of about 5:35 a.m., Austin police reopened the roads after clearing the crash site.
