10 year old killed in crash

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A 10-year-old boy who was killed in a crash on the US 290 eastbound service road near Manor on Saturday has been identified by the Austin Police Department.

Austin-Travis County EMS and APD responded to the call of the crash on Sept. 22 at 10:31 a.m.

Luis Angel Tinoco, 10, was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved and was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, a Dodge pickup truck ran a red light at the intersection of the US 290 eastbound service road and the State Highway 130 northbound service road.

The truck hit a Nissan Altima on the left side, killing Tinoco, who was unrestrained in the back seat, according to police. 

APD is continuing to investigate this case. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the APD Vehicular Homicide Unit detectives at (512) 974-5594.
