1 killed in crash that closed Cesar Chavez St. west of Lamar bridge

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man in his 20s was killed in a crash on West Cesar Chavez Street, just west of the Lamar Boulevard bridge over Lady Bird Lake. Two other men were seriously injured in the crash, Austin-Travis County EMS said.

First responders were called to the 1200 block of Cesar Chavez at 3:44 p.m. Monday.

Austin police say a sedan going eastbound veered into the westbound lanes after losing control and T-boned a pickup truck with two men inside.

The two men who were injured are expected to recover.
