Leander issues boil water notice for Lakeline area after line break

Water main cracked during work in Lakeline area of Leander

LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) — The city of Leander has issued a boil water notice in the Lakeline area after a large water main was damaged by contractors causing several customers to lose access to water.

The contractors were working near Crystal Falls Parkway by Overland Drive in Lakeline. Approximately seven customers are without water near Overland Drive.

The impacted areas include CapRock at Crystal Falls, Randalls Town Center, Cottages at Crystal Falls, Whitestone Elementary, Fire Station No. 2, Fairways at Crystal Falls, Grand Mesa, Legacy at Crystal Falls, and Primrose School of Crystal Falls.

Samples of water from the cracked main are being taken to a state-approved laboratory for testing.

Results should be available within the next two days, and at that time the affected areas will receive a notice canceling the boil water notice.
