BUDA, Texas (KXAN) — City Council members in Buda decided Wednesday to declare foul smells a nuisance.

The ordinance will regulate strong odors that drift across property lines. The ordinance aims to stop odors that impact the welfare of the public, property values, the economy, or quality of life

These odors include the smell of chemicals, smoke from burning trash, stagnant pools and composting as well as dead animals.

Residents ordinance could face a fine of up to $500 per violation.
