AUSTIN (KXAN) – Hindu Charities for America and the Jewish Community of Austin have teamed up to raise funds and donate school supplies to children in need.
In its 5th year, both organizations have coordinated packing school supplies for over 1,400 homeless children within Del Valle ISD, Manor ISD and Austin ISD.
Volunteers from around the community met Sunday afternoon at the Dell Jewish Community Campus to package the school supplies.
The funds raised for the school supplies were made possible by Bollywood Meets Borscht Belt, a local event held by the charities in June.
