AUSTIN (KXAN) — Less is more is the theory behind the tiny house trend, which prompted some Austinites to tour a tiny 160 square foot home Saturday.

The house features a full daybed, kitchen and bathroom with a full shower. It even has a dining table and large storage areas and is outfitted with USB outlets, a pop-up TV and air conditioning.

Cindy Glenn is in the process of building a tiny home because she says she can’t afford to stay in her house anymore.

“My daughter has one more year of high school,” Glenn said. “We’re going to live in the tiny house and see where it goes from there.”

The portable home owned by ESCAPE Homes is on its way to Pipe Creek, Texas, where it will be available for rent via Airbnb.
