HOUSTON, Texas (KXAN) — “This is the highlight of my career, this is a really big alligator,” said alligator hunter Gary Saurage.

The largest alligator ever found in the state of Texas has a new home. A team of alligator hunters caught the record-breaking gator in Champion Lake, East of Houston.
At nearly 14 feet long, the alligator weighs more than 900 pounds. Wildlife officers brought the team in to catch and move the gator. It was posing a safety hazard to the wildlife refuge.
The alligator now has a home at the Gator County Wildlife Park near Beaumont.
The park is holding a contest to name the gator. Leave your suggestion in the comments below!
