BURNET COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — The body of a kayaker who capsized on Lake Buchanan Saturday was recovered early Sunday and has now been identified, according to the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, 31-year-old Julian Everard Dahmen, and a woman were kayaking to an island near the center of the lake to camp when both of their kayaks capsized. The woman was rescued and is expected to be okay.

Search teams from the Lower Colorado River Authority, STAR Flight, Texas Game Wardens, Cassie Volunteer Fire Department, and the Burnet County EMS and Sheriff’s Office discovered the man’s body Sunday morning just after 9 a.m.
