Can’t stand jaywalkers? One Chinese city is spraying them with water

Are you tired of jaywalkers darting into busy traffic? A major Chinese city thinks it has a solution.

State media released video, obtained by NBC News, of jaywalkers getting sprayed with water if they try to walk on the crosswalk while the light is red.

High-tech efforts are underway in some of China’s big cities to stop pedestrians from jaywalking, complete with lasers and motion sensors.

The southern city of Shenzhen has launched 40 units of the “electronic police” units, including cameras with artificial intelligence that can identify jaywalkers automatically.
