PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) — Officials have increased the police presence at Pflugerville High School after a student received a threatening social media post with a photo of a gun.

Pflugerville ISD police say the image, which contained the letters “PHS,” originated from a previous threat in Virginia. Pflugerville ISD officers are investigating the threat to determine if it’s authentic.

Other than the increased police presence, the district says the school, located at 1301 W. Pecan St., is continuing its normal operations.

In January, Manor ISD had to address a social media threat supposedly made against “MHS” — or Manor High School —  but was actually targeting Monticello High School in Albemarle County, Virginia.
