AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas added another offensive weapon with a commitment Saturday during a busy recruiting weekend.
2020 athlete Mookie Cooper, from St. Louis, announced his commitment through twitter becoming the fourth pledge for Texas’ next recruiting class.
Cooper is visiting Austin for an unofficial visit this weekend along with numerous other 2020 and 2021 recruits.
During the 2018 season, Texas coach Tom Herman said publicly several times that his team badly needed more speed. Cooper is part of the solution rated as the highest player by 247 Sports that is currently commited to the Longhorns.
While a majority of the recruiting moves haven’t been made, the Longhorns 2020 class is all offense so far. Cooper joins Lake Travis quarterback Hudson Card and offensive linemen Logan Parr and Jake Majors as Texas commits.
