AUSTIN (KXAN) — Officials have recalled a kaleidoscope toy they say can cause choking and laceration hazards. The end caps of the kaleidoscope can be removed and expose small parts that can come loose and pose a choking hazard to small children; the internal components pose a risk of cutting children.
The toy is offered exclusively at H-E-B stores in Texas, and the recall covers about 35,000 of these toys. H-E-B and H-E-B Plus stores in Texas from April 1 to April 3 offered these toys as a prize for accumulated H-E-B Buddy points. Officials say parents should immediately stop using the recalled kaleidoscopes, take them from children and return the kaleidoscopes to an H-E-B store for a refund of purchase points that can be used for another item.
Customers can call the H-E-Buddy Prize Line at 800-399-0629 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT daily or online at www.bybranded.com. Click on “HEBuddy Kaleidoscope recall information” for more about the recall.
