GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) — People got out in Georgetown Sunday to enjoy the nice weather and celebrate a beautiful part of the town.

The city’s 17th annual Red Poppy Festival wrapped up Sunday noon as people were able to enjoy live music, good eats, and local artwork.

The festival serves as Georgetown’s welcome to spring, as well as their signature red poppies.

Georgetown is called the ‘Red Poppy Capital of Texas’ as it is one of only a handful of places red poppies grow naturally in the wild each year.
