GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) — A 12-year-old in Georgetown was found Friday morning after police say he did not return home from Benold Middle School Thursday afternoon.

Georgetown police say they received a phone call from a Georgetown parent around 8:30 a.m. saying Conner Tart-Hisaw had spent the night at her house with her son and was safe.

“The parent indicated she was not aware Conner was listed as missing until she heard about it this morning, at which time she contacted the Police Department,” according to a press release.

Surveillance video showed Tart-Hisaw leaving the school, located at 3407 Northwest Blvd., around 4 p.m. and walking toward Northwest Boulevard. The house where he was found was about 1.3 miles from the school.

At the time, authorities said he was possibly a runaway and they did not have any information to lead them to believe the boy was in danger or has been abducted. An Amber Alert was not issued, as the situation did not meet the required protocol.
