NAVASOTA, Texas (KXAN) — Four people are dead after a plane crashed outside of the Navasota Municipal Airport Sunday morning.

According to KPRC the FAA says the singe-engine aircraft was spotted in the trees southeast of the airport around 9:20 a.m. by the pilot of another aircraft, who called in to inform authorities.

The FAA also stated that the aircraft had left from David Wayne Hooks Airport in Houston at 8:17 a.m.

According to the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office the passengers, two adults and two children, were all killed in the crash.

The crash is currently being investigated by the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board.
