FLORENCE, Texas (KXAN) – A man was crushed to death in Florence on Sunday after a mishap with a vehicle he was working on, said Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody in a tweet.

Sheriff Chody said that a lift jack failed while the 55-year-old man was underneath the vehicle to work on it. It pinned him and caused fatal injuries. It happened on the 1000 block of County Road 222.

He died at the scene and an autopsy has been ordered, but officials say foul play was not suspected.
