A man and a woman were stabbed Wednesday morning in east Austin and taken to the hospital with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries, according to Austin Travis County EMS.

Law enforcement was called around 4:37 a.m. to the 5400 block of Pecan Brook Drive, which appears to be a neighborhood northwest of Lyndon B. Johnson Early College High School.

Austin police say they’ve identified a suspect but that person is not in custody. The public is not in danger.
