Timeline of Round Rock girls’ disappearance and their mother’s death


ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — After being reported missing for three days, authorities have found two Round Rock girls, 7-year-old Lulu Bandera-Margret and 14-year-old Lili Griffith, safe and sound. The suspect, Terry Miles, is in custody, but has not been charged in the death of the girls’ mother, Tonya Bates.

Mills lived with Bates and her two daughters in their home on Leslie Court.

Here’s what we know so far about the calls made to 911 regarding Bates.

Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at 1 a.m.: Miles’ mother receives a text message from a phone that belonged to one of the daughters.

Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at an unknown time: Terry Miles was caught on surveillance camera in a business in Trinidad, Colo. The children were not with him.

Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at 10:36 a.m.: Officers went to 2321 Leslie Court for a welfare check that was called in by Bates’ coworker. She apparently did not show up for work. Police didn’t find anything suspicious at the time and left.

Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at 8:30 p.m.:  Bates’ boyfriend called the Round Rock Police Department worried because she wasn’t responding and neither were her two daughters. Officers went back to the home and once again didn’t find anything of suspicious nature. RRPD said there wasn’t a vehicle at the house and no one opened the door to the home.

Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, at noon: Last time the girls, Luluvioletta Mariposo Bandera-Margret, 7, and Lilianais Victoria Cake Griffith, 14, were seen in Round Rock.

Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, at 4 p.m.: Police discover Bates’ body inside her home. She appeared to have suffered from blunt force trauma.

Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, at 10 p.m.: Amber Alert issued for the two missing girls who police say was taken by Terry Allen Miles, 44. Miles was Bates’ roommate.

Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 8:30 p.m. CST: Miles and missing girls were found near Trinidad, Colorado.Friday, Jan. 5: Girls are returning to Austin and will be placed in foster care temporarily. RELATED COVERAGE:
