Teenager yells ‘I am Jesus’ after police say he led them on chase

Dash camera footage shows a teenager leading police on a chase and then crashing while going 106 mph on a South Carolina highway.

A trooper with the South Carolina Highway Patrol was rushing down Interstate 77 on St. Patrick’s Day behind a truck with a driver who refused to stop. Behind the wheel was 17-year-old Carter Kendall.

Authorities said they received several reports of a driver speeding in the area. The chase spanned two counties before Kendall crashed and flipped his truck.

Kendall, who is from Waxhaw, N.C., survived the crash. When he was placed into custody at the scene, he said, “it’s all fake” and goes on to claim that he is Jesus.

Kendall was ultimately charged with DUI and failing to stop for an officer.
