Suspect on Texas 10 Most Wanted list captured in California

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) – A suspect on the Texas 10 Most Wanted list has been caught in California after months on the run.

The Texas Department of Public Safety on Tuesday announced the arrest of 32-year-old Blake Everett Reed.

A DPS statement says Reed was captured Sunday at a home in Cayucos, California.

Investigators say Reed has ties to Wood and Smith counties in East Texas. Reed in September 2016 was accused of assaulting a woman in Wood County, then arrested on counts including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was freed on bond.

Authorities say Reed was sought – since May 2017 – on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, harassment of public servant, assault of a public servant, assault, plus evading arrest/detention with a vehicle.
