COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KWKT) — The College Station Police Department says a man entered Rockies nightclub on Monday morning and fired a gun, leading to a standoff that ended early Tuesday morning.

Police initially responded to the scene at 2501 Texas Avenue South around 10:30 a.m. after a call from a citizen saying shots had been fired inside of the club.

The College Station SWAT and hostage negotiation teams were scene and attempted to contact the suspect, identified as Michael Blake Jones, 38, of College Station, to end the situation peacefully. At 3:07 a.m., Jones voluntarily surrendered to police.

Department of Public Safety troopers and College Station city marshals also assisted College Station police. They are uncertain how many rounds were fired, but believe no one is injured.

College Station Lt. Craig Anderson said there is no apparent relationship between the suspect and Rockies.

Jones was arrested and charged with criminal mischief.
