AUSTIN (KXAN) — Shots were fired at a Capital Metro bus in east Austin Wednesday morning. No one was injured during the shooting, the Austin Police Department said.

Officers were called to the 1100 block of Springdale Road, near Oak Springs Drive, at 11:53 a.m. for the report of shots being fired at the bus.

Nearby Ortega Elementary School was initially placed in lockout mode — where exterior doors are locked but classes continue as normal inside — and has now been cleared.

APD says no arrests have been made.
