PASADENA, Texas (KXAN) — Authorities near Houston have released surveillance video of a man they believe beat an elderly man to death over the weekend.

Pasadena police discovered 83-year-old Pedro Munive’s body near a vehicle around 6:48 a.m. Sunday.

“He beat the guy and then he left him, went around the complex, came back a few minutes later and beat him some more,” Vance Mitchell with the Pasadena Police Department told Fox 26 in Houston.

KPRC spoke to the victim’s grandson who said his grandfather helped raise him.

“He was a great man and kind to everyone. He was active and it was sad to see that he went that way … especially under the circumstances,” Mario Munive told KPRC.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 and approximately 200 pounds. He also has tattoos on his left arm. Surveillance video of the suspect shows him walking around the apartment complex where Munive was found.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
