New Braunfels High School student faces terroristic threat charge

Blue file police lights

A 16-year-old New Braunfels High School student was detained and faces a terroristic threat charge after allegedly threatening a girl with a firearm on social media.

Officers pulled the student from class and questioned him. They found a firearm in his car’s glovebox in the parking lot of the high school at 2551 TX-337 Loop.

“Investigators determined that although the original victim had been threatened with the handgun, at no point was a threat made against the campus or its students,” according to a release from NBPD. They seized the handgun and took the student into custody without incident. He is currently in the Guadalupe County Juvenile Detention Center.

NBHS will send a letter to parents informing them of the situation.
