AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police are asking for the public’s help piecing together clues after a man was killed in east Austin Monday morning.

Austin-Travis County EMS received reports of a man with a gunshot wound at 6:26 a.m. at the Reserve at Springdale Apartments in the 5600 block of Springdale Road, near Rogge Lane. That area is just west of the Walnut Creek Greenbelt.

Police say they cannot confirm the man was shot and only that he suffered “obvious trauma.”

ATCEMS says the man, who appears to be in his 20s, was the only patient on scene. Police identified him as 20-year-old Damarcio White.

Police do not have a description of the suspect to work on.

It is not known at this time what led up to the incident.

If you have information about the incident, you are asked to call Austin Police.

Three people were also shot Sunday morning in east Austin. Police say two people were shooting at each other on the 1800 block of Chicon Street just off East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
