FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Cocaine was found hidden in the lining of a baby’s car seat while the baby was in it on Monday, according to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 12:20 p.m., Sgt. Randy Thumann and his K-9 partner Kolt stopped a car traveling east on Interstate 10 at mile marker 667 near Flatonia.

Sgt. Thumann talked to the driver and “observed many discrepancies in his travel itinerary and criminal indicators of drug trafficking,” according to a release from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. He and Kolt searched the car and found about 5 kilos of cocaine hidden inside an infant car seat, under a 3-month-old baby. That amount of the drug is valued at $500,000.

Jose Luis Robles Andrade, 29, was arrested and faces a felony cocaine possession charge.
